        2000 MM (So many ask about year 2000!)
        2001    MMI
        2002    MMII

 You should not write XXXX or IIII, but XL or IV. Never more than
 three of any one numeral in a row is good and simple rule to follow.
 Read more on "the rules":
 Paul Lewis has written some about the rules.

BEYOND 3000 ?

About numerals beyond 3000, well this is one way to do it:
		 _
	4000    MV
		_
	5000	V
		_
	6000	VM
		_
	7000	VMM
		_
       10000	X
		_
       50000	L
		_
      100000	C
		_
      500000	D
		_
     1000000    M

             OR

        1000   (I)

        5000   (V)

MULTIPLYING ROMAN NUMBERS

	XLII x LXI = ?

	XLII	LXI
-----------------------------------------------
half	*XXI	CXXII	    double

	   X	CCXLIV

	*  V	CDXXCVIII

	  II	DCCCCLXXVI

	*  I	MDCCCCLII
-----------------------------------------------

 Pick out the odd numbers on the
 halfed side and add the corresponding
 doubled numbers together and you
 get the answer. Oddnumber = *

 (Remark: Half of XXI is X and half of
 V is II and so be it.)

----------------------------------------------
	 XXI => CXXII

	   V => CDXXCVIII

	   I => MDCCCCLII

	      +
	      ------------
	      	MMDLXII
----------------------------------------------

 So XLII x LXI = MMDLXII

 Nice things you can learn by
 paying attention while watching TV
 or surfing the Internet.

 42 x 61 = 2562 looks easier.
